National Dive and Activity Centre, Monmouthshire

Published by Clive Banks, 2018
After serving 20 years in the British Army, REME, Darren Bryce MBE and his wife Kaye developed the National Dive and Activity Centre near Chepstow that today attracts 70,000 visitors each year. Today the MOD is one of Darren’s largest customers

When nearby Livox Quarry, next to the River Wye, was put up for sale by Crown Estates, Darren and Kaye had just two weeks to complete the purchase before the site went into an auction along with other parcels of land. Within seven days a deal was agreed with Bricks for the 123 acre site including a lake, pasture and ancient woodland.

In partnership with Monmouthshire County Council and the Welsh Assembly, plans are being made for a recreational Eco-park including a manmade beach, a restaurant and up to 100 lodges.

Darren, pictured with his wife Kaye, said: “We’d been aware of this amazing site since the quarry closed seven years ago. Being able to purchase the site before it went onto the open market was the only way that would work for us and it would not have been possible without the backing of Bricks.
